Solar Heating
Swindon, Marlborough, Chippenham
We are specialists in solar heating & underfloor heating and our team of highly qualified engineers & boiler installers can install each system efficiently to help you reduce your heating bills and carbon dioxide emmissions. In the average household, over 70% of energy use goes into space and water heating, so a source of free hot water to use instead of commercial energy can make a dramatic financial saving. If a renewable energy system is installed into a house, it will replace any gas central heating or oil central heating system and reduce heating and hot water costs dramatically.
Renewable Energy
As well as solar heating & underfloor heating we also supply and install renewable energy systems Our company believes in renewable energy and we are at the forefront of any developments in this area. Our renewable energy solutions include, solar, geothermal (Ground source heat pumps), biomass and combined heat & power.
Solar Water Heating uses the radiation from the sun to heat water in a panel often sited on the roof, which in turn can supply that heat as hot water or to a central heating system. Unfortunately the demands on your central heating system are at their highest when the sun is weakest so a solar heating system will only contribute to part of your heating energy requirements.
This is the renewable technology of choice for most UK households as it offers a quicker payback (7-15 years for an average household). We have the necessary experience and training to be able to install solar panel heating for your home and will ensure that your system works efficiently to provide at least 60% of your hot water requirements, saving money on your bills all year round.
Underfloor Heating
Underfloor heating is fast becoming the most popular way to heat a home. This efficient system has many benefits, unlike conventional radiator heating there is very little convection to move dust around the room nor leave dust marks at the top of radiators. Also because the heating is more efficient you can turn your heating down thereby saving money on your long term heating bills. It has been proven that our systems make an energy saving of 15-40% on traditional heating systems, this not only saves you money but has a positive effect on your carbon footprint.
Underfloor heating from the whole floor area of the house gently warms the air above, eliminating cold spots. The warm air rises from the floor losing approximately two degrees centigrade at 2.0 meters above the floor, which makes an underfloor heating system ideal for all types of buildings.
Geothermal (Ground source heat pumps)
Geothermal energy is taken from the natural heat in the earth using ground source heat pumps. Ground source heat pumps provide a new and clean way of heating buildings in the UK. They make use of renewable energy stored in the ground, providing one of the most energy-efficient ways of heating buildings. They are suitable for a wide variety of building types and are particularly appropriate for low environmental impact projects.
The heat pump works by keeping fluid in the evaporator slightly cooler than the source, enabling it to draw heat from the earth via heat collectors which are buried in the ground.
Biomass is produced from organic materials, either directly from plants or indirectly from industrial, commercial, domestic or agricultural products. It is often called 'bioenergy' or 'biofuels'. It doesn't include fossil fuels, which have taken millions of years to be created.
Our Biomass boilers offer an environmentally friendly, heating solution. The same amount of carbon dioxide, which is absorbed by the growing plants, is emitted when burning logs or pellets. They extract energy to provide efficient heating and hot water. The biomass range consists of both log burning and pellet burning units, both with three outputs available.
Combined Heat and Power (CHP) sometimes known as Cogeneration is the use of a single unit to generate both heat and electricity. In conventional power generation large quantities of energy in the form of heat are wasted. By using this technique, the total energy conversion efficiency can reach 90%.
